F is for Flexibility

My Living Life Simple daily read today really hit home. Thought I would share it with everyone!

F: Flexibility is a good thing

Left to my own devices, I tend to be an all-or-nothing kind of girl. If things don’t go exactly as planned, I’d rather they just didn’t go at all. Looks silly in black and white, doesn’t it?
Flexibility is a skill I’m pursuing, learning to hold my plans and my agenda more loosely in order to be open to what God has planned for me and my day. The desire of my heart is to want what he leads – and for that to happen, I must bend.

So, how flexible are you? Are you willing to let go of your plans, to try something new when things don’t go exactly as planned? Maybe like me, flexibility is something you’re asking God to teach you, something you’re in the process of learning as you pursue a simple life.
Flexibility is not something that comes naturally to me. But living simple requires flexibility. Life doesn’t always go as planned and being flexible is a much-needed skill.

Have you ever heard the saying, “If you don’t bend, you’ll break”? It’s so true, isn’t it? Without the flexibility required to adapt and change and try something new, we tend to break, to give up, to call it quits.

Reflection time :)

XOXO,
Miller

So true. I agree completely.

I also think that flexibility requires great faith. Another great F word. To know that God is always there even when you don't think he is.

sorry for the heavy insight. :) It's just been a year since my husband has been out of a job. (3rd Layoff) He recently just got hired making the most money we have ever made. So here is to F's. lol
