Etsy Store of the Week

I love Etsy!! Most of you close to me are already very aware of that. I literally purchase something from Etsy once a week! Whether it be hair bows, clothes, accessories, sippy cups, birthday gifts, etc. I can find what I'm looking for at Etsy...and a lot of times something I'm not looking for :)

So, I decided I was going to let my faithful readers aware when I come across a seller that I vow to re-visit in the future. Today's seller is

I puffy heart this seller. So easy to work with, very affordable, and not to mention, freaking cute stuff!!

So, if you get a chance, check her out! You may even recognize a special little someone in her "featured items." LOL!

XOXO,

Best thing since I last blogged: Josh and I enjoyed sushi and cocktails out on the deck tonight. Very Relaxing!!

Worst thing since I last blogged: I didn't win a single game at Bingo Friday night! Ugh!

Better Late Than Never!!

1. I too Kate, can honestly say I didn't cheat on this Ten on Tuesday! Bella (the perfect bulldog) ate thru the cord that charges my laptop! I finally got Josh to rig it so I could get on and do this :) I went to Best Buy to buy a new one and it was $100!! I had my receipt at home with the warranty information so that's another trip for another day.

2. We have had a crazy busy weekend! Friday night Malakai's T-ball team had a night out at Busch Stadium. We went to the game and the kids (and parents) got to do a lap around the ballpark! It was very exciting and we had a fabulous time. After getting there early, waiting for what seemed like forever to walk the field, getting dinner, and finally sitting down at our seats, our kids were exhausted! We made it to the third inning before we decided it was time to go. Not without stop at Build A Bear so the kids could build a special "2009 All-star" bear. The All-star game is being held here this year so I thought that would be a neat keepsake for them :)

3. We had SEVERAL bar-b-q's over the holiday weekend. Good times spent with friends, good food, and just plain ole Mid Western fun!

4. I took the kids to the carnival at Saint Paul (Malakai's new school) on Saturday. The weather was beautiful and since Leila is still too little to do a lot, Malakai loves leading the way. He did all the rides with no fear at all! Take a look at this slide that he did all by his self! We had snow cones and headed home to wait for Daddy to get home from work.

5. I think I am actually going to get my little sister this summer for a weekend! Looks like it is going to be over the 4th of July since I don't work that Friday. My dad and Lisa are going to do a weekend trip to Vegas and she is all mine for the whole weekend!! I can't wait! Malakai loves playing with her and she seems to be the only one who gets away with bossing him around :)

6. I'm sure you remember from last week that I had Leila's one year pictures done. The proofs are done and I'm in love with every single one of them. If you wouldn't mind taking a look, I would love opinions. Josh and I are having a very difficult time picking our favorites. You can find them at the following link:

7. I am in love with Skip Schumaker!! I told Josh if he couldn't find me when we were on the field at the Cardinals game that it was probably because I disappeared into the locker room looking for Skip! He then preceded to tell me that he would not bail me out of jail! Nuff said :)

8. Snakes are horrible here this summer! They seem to mostly be the black snakes that aren't poisoness, but they are huge!! We are talking between 4 to 6 feet! I have had several people I know personally who have had them in their yard and my mom apparently has a nest on her front porch!! A guy came out to set traps because they are illegal to kill and he said he doesn't know how many there are exactly but at least 6!! Three of them just chill on her sidewalk everyday around 3pm! Screw that!! If we have a snake I am getting a hotel and not coming home until Josh has vivid proof that they are GONE!!

9. I enrolled Kai in a Summer camp at a local park. Just for one week in June and two weeks in July. It is Mon-Fri from 9-1. He is VERY excited!! He gets to take his lunch (which he has never had to do before), play in sprinklers, be outside, and play, play, play! It is only $37 for the week!! Isn't that like dirt cheap!!?? He and Josh are going to pick out a lunch box tomorrow since apparently the one I picked at Pottery Barn isn't cool enough! I'm sure they will come home with the most obnoxious cartoon character one they could find, but hey, it's just summer camp right? ;)

10. Malakai is staying at my dad and Lisa's the week of June 08th. He does this every year for a week in November and a week in June. He loves it! My fabulous Aunt Cindi called me to let me know that she wanted to take Leila that week! Could you imagine?! A week with no kids!? What would I do?! She was going to take the week off work and just spoil and love Leila the entire time. Guess what? Josh said "NO WAY!" He loves my Aunt Cindi but he won't part with his little Leilicious! He says that Kai was almost 2 before we let him stay at my Dad's for a week, so he doesn't want Leila doing it until she is 2. He is such a buzz kill!

Ten On Tuesday...

1. I am embarrassed to admit that I have started Farming!! I know! I made so much fun of Josh, but I logged on to see what all the hooplah was about and found myself addicted!

2. Going along with my computer addiction, I have also decided to activate my Twitter account :) I always enjoy reading Colleen and Katie's so I now also Twit...or is it Tweet? You know you want to follow :)

3. My girl Nicole at Spirit's Breeze Photography has done it again! We had a photo shoot with her to re-enact Leila's 1st birthday and get some One Year Shots and once again, it was FABULOUS! She is so creative and makes Leila (and myself) so comfortable! She has a true talent and I am lucky to have her as a friend. Thanks Nicole!! I hope she doesn't mind that I took a few of the sneak-peak pics to show off her skills :)

4. I am getting ready to start my hard-core, 12 week training program for the half marathon in Virginia Beach. This is it boys and girls...this is what separates the men from the boys, hope I can hang.

5. I am probably going to jinx myself for this, but Malakai has been a total joy to be around lately! He listens, is great with Leila, and Josh and I always get complimented on his manners. I don't know how long this is going to last, but I am definitely enjoying it for the time being!

6. My girl Katie is definitely a top five contestant in the contest she entered! She has a 40% chance of winning a $25,000 mouth "grill" make-over. Please take the time to click on the link and vote for KATIE!! There is no registering and it seriously takes two seconds!

www.1047kissfm.com/pages/promo/central-dental-care/pimpmygrill.html

7. Most of you have probably already heard, but just in case, Bella (Josh's beloved bulldog) has eaten my blackberry! I came downstairs from putting the kids to bed and noticed her chewing on something, sure enough, it was my precious phone! She had punctured the glass and there was a wire poking out of the back. Amazingly enough it still works and we have the insurance on it thank goodness. It just is so frustrating! Josh seriously thinks this dog does no wrong! HELLO?! Josh works 60 hours a week!! Do you really think he is around enough to know how bad his dog REALLY is?? I think not!

8. Does anyone know anything about Broken Arrow, Oklahoma? I have this dream of living in a storybook/movie town. Where there is a town square and my kids can play outside till I call them in for dinner. A place where I can walk next door and ask my neighbor for a favor or if they have any salt for my margarita. Don't role your eyes, I said it was a dream :) So, I was researching places like this that were also high in the ratings to raise a family and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma popped up. Really?! My daydreams take me many places, never did I think they would lead me to Broken Arrow.

9. Sid the Science Kid! Have I talked about this show before? I LOVE this show! Not only is it great, but Malakai learns SO much from it! He talks about muscles, pulleys, levers, etc. and it is all because of this show! Not to mention that Sid is also bi-racial which I think is great! If you've never caught an episode it's on our local PBS channel at like 7:30am. Check it out! "I love my mom! My mom is cool!"

10. My horoscope for the past week went as follows:

Your daily routine may well be unsettled or disrupted this week, but while the influences shaping this development are mainly pesky, very minor ones, there’s a strong sense of progress and improvements following on from this. It’s a week where troubling news is likely to facilitate a change for the better, or where one step back actually enables two steps forward again! The 17th enables romance!

My routine wasn't really unsettled or disrupted this week. I am thankful for that. The 17th didn't really enable romance either! Hopefully it did for Colleen and Patrick since this was their anniversary! Happy Anniversary to my favorite couple :) I went the whole week waiting for troubling news, which never really happened either. I read my horoscope every week and then just wait....and usually wait some more for the stuff to happen. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, it's just a habit I've gotten in to and enjoy doing :)

The Magic House

Let me start off by saying that Josh and I had a fabulous time last night at Dane Cook. Anyone who has ever heard him would have to agree that he is freakin hilarious!! He also had two guys open for him that I thought were really great as well!

Malakai, Leila, and myself spent the majority of the day today at The Magic House. I have not been there since they have finished the renovation that seems to have been going on for years now, and it is truly amazing!! I have always been a fan of this place, but now it is like 100 times better! First of all, it's HUGE! So now, the large crowds have more places to spread out so it isn't as bad. They also have a HUGE section for kids aged 1 - 5. I know that seems like a pretty big age span but it seems to work out perfect.

All in all, it was a great day! T-ball was rained out this morning, so we had daddy home this morning which was a nice treat. Malakai plans his days by who he is going to be playing with that day. The first question he asks when he wakes up is "Is it play with daddy day?" Wednesdays and Friday's are play with daddy day, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are play with Sarah and Carrie day, and Saturday and Sundays are play with mommy day. So this morning he says "I am SO happy! It's play with BOTH mommy and daddy day!!" That kid is SO sweet. Needless to say he wasn't very happy when Josh had to go in to work at noon.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

XOXO,

Best thing since I last blogged: The fight with out HOA is over and our yard is pretty again :)

I Love May Flowers!

Things have been so crazy lately that I am just now getting the chance to post the pics of my precious Mother's Day gifts! I enjoyed a fabulous day that consisted of SLEEPING IN, breakfast in bed, and all the Malakai kisses I wanted! He usually refuses to give kisses, but on "Special Mom's Day" he sucks it up and takes it!

Exhibit A: A precious MOM picture frame with pics of my babies

Exhibit B: This is a special coupon vase. The flowers are Leila and Malakai's hand prints and they each represent a coupon like an extra Mother's Day and quiet time :)

I love Mother's Day because it is a time for thoughtfulness and thankfulness. I hope all you Mother's out there had a great day! You deserve it!!

I'll leave you with a video of Leila walking. It isn't a very good one, she has gotten SO much better! But, it's better than nothing.

XOXO,

Best Thing Since I last blogged: My girl Katie (Thomson Family Blog) is a finalist in an awesome contest!! I will need everyone's help in voting! I'll post details as their given.

Ten on Tuesday (Times 10)

It only seems appropriate that since today is my 4 year wedding anniversary, that I relate my 10 on Tuesday to that. So here it goes, 100 reasons why I love my husband and what I love about him!! I definitely cheated on this one and started WAY early.

1. He is my bestfriend

2. He is the one I dreamed of every night of my life and the one I think about each day.

3. Every time he looks at me my heart skips a beat.

5. I never have to ask him "do you love me" he makes me know it everyday

6. He can ALWAYS make me laugh

7. He has the ability to overcome adversity and rise above it

8. He is HOT! Being caught up in the daily grind of work/kids/sleep etc, this is something I don't tell him enough, but the man is freakin hot!

9. He has never once raised his voice at me.

10. The love, adoration, and tenderness in his eyes when caring for our children melts my heart.

I love him for who he is. Not what he can do. Just for who you are, Josh. Happy Anniversary!!

Take me out to the ballgame!

As promised, I finally got some pictures of Malakai playing T-ball. Unfortunately it is that time of year where it rains ALL the time so the past two weeks have had to be played in the outfield instead of on the actually infield. However, the kids have adjusted great to it and it is SO funny to watch all of them play. There are just as many parents on the field as there are kids which is hilarious!!

As you can see Malakai is a lefty. At first we weren't sure because he never favored one way over the other, but, when he goes up to bad he insists on batting left handed. His glove was made for a right hander so whenever he catches the ball he either tries to throw it with his glove or he takes the glove off so he can throw with his left hand. I think it is time to invest in a left handers glove. He does still however, write with his right. There is nothing "simple" about this child :)

You will also notice that he got a hair cut *sad face*. He has been asking to get it short for summer and I kind of ignored him, then he told me long hair is for girls. Which makes me think some of the kids are saying something to him. Even though it looks SO freakin cute on him!! So, I let him get it cut for the summer and we'll see where it goes from there.

Leila also enjoys the ballgames. She has a lot of little friends there that just adore her! Even a lot of Malakai's team mates have watched her grow up so they all are always excited to see her. My little social butterfly :)

XOXO,
Best thing since I last blogged: I had a fabulous time with my girls last night! It is so nice to be able to get together and laugh, talk, drink, and just enjoy company :)

Worst thing since I last blogged: Not sure what's going on with my AC but my basement is cool and the rest of the house IS NOT! That's a man's job! I'm not dealing with it!!

Ten on Tuesday

Ten things I hope to accomplish this summer:

1. Hire a cleaning lady/service. Nothing too extravagant. Just someone to come in twice a month and do the things I hate to do. Baseboards, bathrooms, windows, etc.

2. Losing about 20 more pounds would be nice.

3. Run our half marathon we've been training so hard for. Technically that is scheduled for the beginning of September....that's kind of this summer.

4. Get Leila enrolled at The Little Gym. Malakai started when he was a little over a year, and I don't want her to feel shorted.

5. Get family pictures taken. I won a raffle at one of our trivia nights. It includes a 2-3 hour sitting at a location of our choice, and a story collage of pictures. One 16 X 20, 2 11X14's, and 4 5X7's framed and matted. Problem is just finding the right time to do it.

6. Scrap.

7. Keep my little sister for a long weekend, without my dad and Lisa. They take Malakai for a week every summer AND winter and they have yet to let me keep her!

8. Read the following:

9. Plan and complete a "work" float trip! I have always vowed that I would NEVER go on a canoe trip again since I had an AWFUL experience in 1997. Alli, if you read this, surely you can remember :) I haven't been since then, however, there is a time in life to get over it and move on. This is my attempt to do that.
10. Convince Josh that purchasing a Kindle2 for myself is a totally, logical, purchase.
XOXO,
Miller

It's Da Bomb!

Friday night Josh and I went to the 5th Annual "Da Bomb" Prom! It is a cancer benefit put on by the hospital I am employed by and it was a fabulous time! No one I was going with had actually been to the event before, so we weren't sure how strict the "Prom Attire Required" on the invitation was, so we decided to go ALL out! I love getting dressed up and I how often do I get the opportunity to wear a formal so I took full advantage of it.

Dinner was great, dancing was fun, Josh and I even got nominated for Prom King and Queen. We lost to a really cute couple though! They were like 60 and in prom attire from back in their prom going days. Josh and I decided that we only hope we are as cute as they were when we are 60 :)

Here are some pics:

Malakai had his first T-ball game this weekend and I forgot my camera!! *GASP* There are many games left in the season so I have the chance to get plenty of pics. Plus, the fields were too muddy to play on so they moved the game to the outfield, so it would have made for some weird looking pictures.

I took the kids to the train store to kill an hour on Saturday afternoon. Leila actually really enjoyed playing with all the trains. I tried to get a picture of them together, but I was unsuccessful.

Other than that, not too much of an exciting weekend.

XOXO,
Miller

Best thing since I last blogged: Had some really good sushi!

Worst thing since I last blogged: It was a crazy week at work!
