I need help!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on organizing a child's clothing?! I have tried everything!! Malakai was so easy...his wardrobe has mostly consisted of polo's, cargo shorts, jeans, and "athletic wear". Leila, on the other hand, has been an extreme challenge!! I have tried several different ways and I still can't seem to get it right! So, I would love to hear how you all organize your children's clothing.

Skirts, tights, hats, shoes, pants, leggings, T's, bloomers, blouses....SO OVERWHELMING! I've tried hanging up dresses, but then it is hard for Josh to find the correct leggings to match. I've tried matching up outfits and putting them in drawers, but that takes up SO much space!!

HELP!! PLEASE!!

XOXO,

Best thing since I last blogged: The rain stopped!!! For now :)

Worst thing since I last blogged: Playing the waiting game, I'll fill you all in soon :) Thanks for the prayers!!

I don't have a girl so I can't really feel your pain. Hope you find something that works! And, maybe Colleen is on to something! LOL!

Okay - don't listen to THAT! ;o) Shopping is the best part of having girls!!! ;o)

One thing that has helped us with the outfit pieces is those hangers with the clips on them - so you can hang the leggings/bloomers/whatever with the dress. I pretty much organize ours into outfits otherwise Justin wouldn't know what to do! So I hang all I can on the clip hangers, and fold the rest in outfits in the drawers.

Not profound, but short of getting a HUGE closet organizing system, this is what I think works best for us. And I have TWO girl wardrobes to deal with!!! ;o)

Maybe you should group them (tights, bloomers, socks, etc....) by colors and put them in clear boxes with lids... so like all the cool colors... green, blues, violets are together... all the neutrals are together, brown, black, white, and... all the warm colors are together red, pink, orange, yellow, the boxes stack great and it makes it a lot easier. I don't have a little one, but I have to be creative when it comes to organizing my closet that is EXTREMELY SMALL. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I was going to suggest the same thing as Claire, about the hangers with the clips, that's exactly what my mom did with all she "made" me wear!! I actually think you've done a wonderful job with the organizing the drawers, however they are crowded!!

And in your defense she doesn't shop ALL the time, see I got your back!

Thank you ladies for all the fabulous suggestions! Looks like I'm going to be investing in the hangers with the clips :) I also love the idea of the sock organizer!!

I knew I could count on my girls!!

Not sure if this will help you or not, but you can use the door hanging plastic thingy (not really sure what its called) for shoes and group outfits per week. Put all the extra stuff in the closet and/or dresser in the way that works best for you and that way Josh won't have to search through anything.

GOOD LAWD! I agree with Colleen! No child should have that many pieces to sort through (snork) xoxo
