Blogging Etiquette

WE ARE ALIVE! We have not fallen off the face of the planet, we have not been injured in the flood, and we have not been abducted by aliens. Just in case anyone was wondering. I am however, very close to keeling over from exhaustion. I knew our month of June was going to be crazy, but WOW! We spent the first week in KC, then my dad, Lisa, and Kiera came to stay with us a week, now my BF of 17 years Kristen is visiting, and we are getting ready to finish off the month by heading back to KC for my 10 year High School Reunion. Wild! I know!

When my dad and Lisa come to town we are always on the go! I'm talking The Zoo, Six Flags, The Magic House, and anything else we could squeeze in to 7 days. I haven't read the book, "Blogging for Dummies," so I'm not quite sure of the exact etiquette, but until I have time to sit down and really blog about the crazy month of June, make sure you take a look at my step-mom's page. She has a little slideshow of Six Flags, and an adorable video of Kai and Kiera doing the Cha Cha Slide.

Also to come...my Leila girl has rolled over!! Don't worry, I will have plenty of pictures of that as well :)

Here are just a few pics of my loved ones.

Best thing since I last blogged: American Idol and Mario Kart on Wii! Thanks Colleen!

Worst thing since I last blogged: Kicking my soda habit...4 weeks and counting. Oh yeah, I have two...the annoying neighbor who keeps complaining about us parking to close to her light pole. UGH!

My Beautiful Mommy

For those of you that know me also know that I am a firm (no pun intended) believer in plastic surgery. As a matter of fact, I plan to have my little Nip/Tuck done by March of 2009. That is my goal anyway. No, I am not going to buy Leila a new set of ta ta's for her high school graduation present, as a lot of people are doing these days. However, having babies has taken it's toll on my girlish figure. I have never been skinny. My whole life I have been big boned. My goal is not to become a size 4. I JUST WANT MY 23 YEAR OLD BOOBS BACK!!

Okay, and the tummy :) I have had two beautiful children who have enjoyed sucking on my ta ta's immensely. The damage is done and there is no push up bra that is going to help. They literally fall into my armpits whenever I lie down. As for the tummy, I am not one of those sickening, cute pregnant divas. I LOOK AWFUL! I gain an ungodly amount of weight and the dimples in my stomach show it now. It doesn't matter how often I go to the gym or how well I dress to compliment my figure, the dimples and stretched skin are still there and they aren't going away with out a little help from Dr. 90210.

What is the point of this you ask? I am no longer going to lose sleep over how I am going to explain to my children that mommy got a new set of jugs and no longer has the cute little dimples they like to lose quarters in. I will just get them THIS!

Good Lord! What will they come up with next?!

Miller...out!

Weekend Update!

First things first...Malakai got a haircut for the summer. We all know how much I love his long hair, but I feel so guilty when he plays outside and it is plastered to his face and it is drenched in sweat. The long hair will be back when it cools down, but for now the short hair will have to do.

We left for Kansas City last Wednesday night and had a WONDERFUL time! We stayed with Josh's parents Wednesday and Thursday. Leila did an excellent job in the car! We were a little worried because she screams bloody murder EVERY time we are in the car! Most kids are supposed to fall asleep in the car, NOT MINE! I think she eventually realized we weren't getting out anytime soon, and we tried to make it a point to leave at her bed time so she slept soundly the entire way! Yeah Leila!

Being away from family is SO difficult! Both sets of grandparents are there and they all just adore Malakai and Leila! Sometimes I feel like it doesn't even matter if Josh and I are around just as long as the kids are. The are so lucky and we are truly blessed to have them!

Thursday night there was a huge storm rolling in so we took Malakai to do a little bit more kite flying. He loves spending time with his Ma Ma and Pa Pa. His cousins Mallory and Kaci also came along for the fun. Leila had a great time in the fresh air.

Friday was packed with tons of excitement! We started out at my Dad and Lisa's and headed to Emma's (KC friend) birthday party at Lifetime Fitness. It was great to see Malakai playing with all the kids and Josh and I have an equally nice time socializing with all the parents. Another reason why we miss home SO much! After leaving the birthday party, we were off to watch Kiera play t-ball. What a joy that was! I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants! She is definitely the cutest one out there! Even when she is eating dirt :) We finished the evening with dinner at Chili's and some nice cold Margaritas.

Saturday was the big dance recital! I was a little nervous about taking Malakai and Leila because I know these things last FOREVER! However, even though I thought I would never have the opportunity to say this, but they were PERFECT. Leila sat on my lap and Kai on Josh's for the entire 3 hours and we didn't hear a peep out of them. I cried when Kiera danced and I enjoyed the show immensely. My dad was also in the show and it was the cutest thing I had ever seen. They did a group father/daughter dance to Surfin USA and they were definitely the best out there. I was giving him a hard time because that morning he made her go downstairs with him so they could practice. He said that in all the weeks of rehearsal he was so worried about Kiera doing the right thing that he would mess up on his own moves. For those of you who have seen my dad, you know he's got moves!! They did great job and he has many more years ahead of him of father/daughter dances :)

The long weekend was perfect! We don't get up there enough and when we do we always spend the drive home trying to figure out a way to get back. Malakai stayed up there with my dad, Lisa, and Kiera and he has a week full of entertainment ahead of him. He wasn't even sad to see us go because Papi was taking him fishing and then they were all off to the movies.

Favorite part of the weekend: Seeing the smile on Malakai's face when he is with family!

Worst part of the weekend: Not sleeping in our own bed! There is just nothing like it :)

Old MacDonald had a farm...And FREE beer!!

Another full past few days here at the Miller household. Late last week we enjoyed our 3 days of Spring that we will get for the rest of the year. It has now officially turned to Summer and my hair frizzes the second I walk out of the door! Blah!

My nieces are in town so I decided to pick Malakai up from school early on Wednesday and take them to Grant's Farm. It was a wonderful time had by all.

Everyone who ever goes to Grant's Farm complains about how the goats are so darn aggressive! Yet, we continue to let our children in there to feed them, and every year they are just as CRAZY as the year before. As you can see, Malakai found a little friend who was very fond of the taste of his shirt. Who knew that goats enjoy "Gap!"

He loves playing with Carley and Cayley! Cayley is actually the one who saved him from jumping over this fence while I was tending to Leila. You know, eventually I will get this two kid thing down, but right now it is hit and miss!

Speaking of multiple kids, Josh and I got a taste of what our life would be like with four! Here they are in our car. We would need twice the size of the car we have now. Is that even possible? I guess that's why we are sticking with 2 :)

Malakai also got to experience another first and this was dippin dots! My brother already thinks he is deprived of so many things, so when he heard the kid hadn't had dippin dots before he rushed right over there to get him some. Again, thank you Cayley for helping Malakai with his first dippin dots experience. As you can see he wasn't quite sure at first but she jumped to the rescue.

Did I mention the free beer! While the kids were enjoying there dots, mommy was enjoying her complimentary peach Bacardi beverages. Yes! I said beverageS...plural. Of course I was going to take advantage of the fact that they give you TWO! I wouldn't want it to go to waist.

Well, Leila is wiggling like crazy on my lap, she has really limited my computer time lately. I hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend.

My favorite part of the weekend: Discovering The Glass Olive! This is my new favorite place to go and enjoy a nice Martini. They have an amazing atmosphere, a great patio, and a to die for Martini menu.

My worst part of the weekend: Family DRAMA!!
